Maxxis products are thoroughly tested in their own facilities and at the world’s leading tyre test centres. In addition, Maxxis engineers test their tyres with national and world-class champions, alongside teams all over the world. Maxxis utilise the most advanced manufacturing equipment and engineering facilities in the industry, with a stringent professional evaluation before the production of every new tyre.

MAXXIS TECHNOLOGIES

EXO

EXO

An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tires. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high.

EXO+

EXO+

Maxxis EXO+ construction combines two of the best puncture protection materials: SilkShield and EXO. The SilkShield layer runs from bead-to-bead with a layer of EXO along the sidewalls. Combined, these two materials create EXO+ which improves tread puncture protection by 27%, sidewall durability by 51% and resistance to pinch flats by 28%.

DD (Double Down)

DD (Double Down)

DoubleDown (DD) is the next step in the evolution of the dual-ply tyre casing for enduro and downhill racing. Two 120 TPI casing layers reinforced with a butyl insert provide the rider with the support and protection of an MTB tyre, but in a lighter package.

TR (Tubeless Ready)

TR (Tubeless Ready)

Tubeless downhill set-ups are a great way to shave some weight and spend more time in the bike park or shuttling hot laps on your local runs. Sealant-compatible rubber is used with the familiar Maxxis dual-ply 60 TPI downhill construction and butyl insert for support and rim protection in order to offer the benefits of increased grip and reliability. A Tubeless Ready bead securely locks to the rim and the foldable bead provides additional weight savings.

Silkshield

Silkshield

Maxxis SilkShield is an exclusive protective material which offers protection from bead to bead, whereas Silkworm is found only under the tread. Both increase puncture and tear resistance without adding much weight.

K2

K2

Available in select tires, this Maxxis-exclusive fabric provides greater puncture protection than aramid. The addition of this lightweight and supple material ensures that ride quality and performance remain unsurpassed.

WT Wide Trail

WT Wide Trail

Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tire’s tread layout and profile on today’s modern, wider rims. Traditional tires are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tire profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for a 35mm inner rim width but are proven to work over a range from 30-35mm inner rim widths, depending on the rider’s preference.

MaxxShield

MaxxShield

MaxxShield represents the ultimate in flat protection. We begin with our SilkShield bead-to-bead protection and add our K2 (Aramid Composite) layer under the tread for unparalleled durability.

MaxxProtect

MaxxProtect

This is a polyfibre material positioned between the tyre tread and the casing. With varying thickness of 0.9mm - 1.5mm. MaxxProtect is designed to maximise puncture resistance in select hybrid models.

MAXXIS COMPOUNDS

Single

One compound throughout the tread optimized for longevity and performance.

Dual

Two compounds used within the tread of select tires to offer lower rolling resistance and increased cornering grip.

3C MaxxSpeed

3C MaxxSpeed

Used primarily in cross country and xc race tyres, the two compounds in the outer layer are specially formulated to reduce rolling resistance and optimize tread wear and traction.

3C MaxxGrip

3C MaxxGrip

3C MaxxGrip uses the softest rubber compounds to offer the ultimate in grip and slow rebound properties for unparalleled traction in downhill applications.

3C MaxxTerra

3C MaxxTerra

An intermediate compound configuration used in select mountain tires. 3C MaxxTerra is softer and offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip.

HYPR

HYPR

HYPR is a full-silica compound and our best-performing compound to date. Compared to our previous road racing compound, HYPR has 16% less rolling resistance with 23% better grip in wet conditions. Impressively, HYPR decreases rolling resistance and increases traction, all while keeping durability equal to our previous rubber compounds.

HYPR-S

HYPR-S

Building on the success of the HYPR compound which debuted on the original High Road, the new HYPR-S compound retains exceptional grip while decreasing rolling resistance by a further 12% compared to HYPR.

ST (Super Tacky)

ST (Super Tacky)

Super Tacky (ST) is a special low-rebound, high-traction compound used in select mountain tires.

3X MaxxSpeed

The Maxxis 3C MaxxSpeed compound is used primarily in cross country and race tyres. This compound structure features more of the harder, low-rolling-resistance compound for maximum speed, with a lighter covering of the softer, grippier compounds on the outer tread for bite into difficult surfaces.
